'But the roof isn't gonna raise itself': Millennials clap back at Gen Z when they claim it's cringe to put your hands in the air at the club - Memebase - Funny Memes

There's a period in music history where the most important message any DJ could send to their audience was a direct order to 'raise the roof'. None of us knew what it meant exactly, but Millennials were there every step of the way, following orders and putting their hands in the air (waving them like they just didn't care).

Alongside other night-out calling cards like 'stank face' and the Bump-It, Millennials latched onto the dance moves we were taught in the club. Throwing your hands in the ayer ay-ayer is a staple dance move. However, unbeknownst to most Millennials, apparently Gen Z can tell your age instantly when you dance with your hands up. They claim it's cringy and puts a target on your back as the oldest person on the dance floor.

Ouch.

Well, Millennials are hiding their handful of grey hairs, but we will not back down from our dance moves. Scroll onward to enjoy the best comebacks of Millennial history, where a generation of hand-raisers taught those hip young kiddos a lesson on TikTok.
