The business was founded in 1951 by Russell Jones and his wife Lorna as Corowa Plumbing Supplies. Initially, they operated as a plumbing contracting business covering new cottage work, light industrial, commercial projects, roofing, and general maintenance.
1983 saw the expansion with the addition of the Steeline Division, operating mobile rollforming machinery and supplying Colorbond Steel Gutter and Colorbond Steel Fascia. The Steeline concept, pioneered by Corowa Plumbing Supplies Pty Ltd, made it the largest supplier of steel gutter and fascia in the Southern Riverina, Albury/Wodonga, and Corowa areas.
In 1986, the business further expanded with the launch of The Roofing Centre Albury/Wodonga in Union Rd, North Albury. It initiated a manufacturing operation for metal roofing, rainwater products, and sheds, servicing domestic, commercial, and rural markets.
Corowa Plumbing broadened its business in 1992 with the launch of the Home Selection Centre at its Albury/Wodonga branch. This expansion allowed the company to service a population base of over 100,000 people.
After over 40 years in plumbing, the contracting division in Corowa was closed in 1993, transforming the workshop into a storage space for bulk purchasing of plumbing materials for resale. At the same time, the company joined the national buying group, Plumbtec Australia, which provided considerable cost savings on stock purchases and ensured market competitiveness. In 2018, Corowa Plumbtec and Steel Centre underwent a major renovation at the Corowa site to both further expand its current product range and to enable better customer service for its existing and ever-growing clientele. Jones Plumbing Plus continues to evolve and adapt, ensuring it remains a trusted name in the plumbing industry.
