In 1951, Russell Jones and his wife Lorna started the business under the name Corowa Plumbing Supplies. They started as a plumbing contracting business for all facets of the plumbing industry including new cottage work, light industrial, commercial, roofing, and general maintenance.
1983 saw the expansion with the addition of the Steeline Division, operating mobile rollforming machinery and supplying Colorbond Steel Gutter and Colorbond Steel Fascia. The Steeline concept, pioneered by Corowa Plumbing Supplies Pty Ltd, made it the largest supplier of steel gutter and fascia in the Southern Riverina, Albury/Wodonga, and Corowa areas.
In 1986, the business further expanded with the launch of The Roofing Centre Albury/Wodonga in Union Rd, North Albury. It initiated a manufacturing operation for metal roofing, rainwater products, and sheds, servicing domestic, commercial, and rural markets.
The business operations expanded in 1992 with the introduction of the Home Selection Centre at the Albury/Wodonga branch. This expansion allowed the company to service a population base of over 100,000 people.
1993 saw the closure of the contracting division in Corowa after more than 40 years, allowing the workshop to be converted into a storage area for bulk plumbing material purchases for resale. This coincided with the company joining the national buying group, Plumbtec Australia, which offered substantial cost savings on the purchase of stock for the plumbing retail business and ensured its market competitiveness. The Corowa Plumbtec and Steel Centre saw major renovations in 2018 to expand the product range and improve customer service for its existing and growing clientele. Jones Plumbing Plus keeps evolving and adapting, maintaining its reputation as a trusted name in the plumbing industry.
